Dr. Tara Erickson was born and raised in rural Michigan on her parent’s hobby farm. She grew up with Beef cattle, horses, a variety of poultry, pigmy hedgehogs, chinchillas, a 48 inch iguana, cats, dogs and very supportive parents. Following her passion for animals she attended Michigan State University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 2007 followed by her DVM in 2011.
Following graduation she moved west to the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. She and her two dogs - Heidi and Ruger, cat - Niamh, and Horse- Ember live in Bluffdale with her husband and son. After 5 years at a mixed animal practice in Provo she joined the Cottonwood Animal Hospital team in January of 2016. She enjoys her role as an Urgent Care doctor with the variety and new challenges her patients bring everyday. Her special interests are in Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Public Health.
In her spare time Tara loves spending time in the mountains, hiking, snowboarding, and horseback riding. She also enjoys playing soccer with her husband Robert, and attending college sporting events with her family.
